Tobias Dauenhauer (23) war der Shooting Star in der hart umkämpften EuroNASCAR Series 2020. Mit drei Siegen, 4 Poleposition und 3 schnellste Runden in der EuroNASCAR Series EN2 krönte er den erfolgreichsten Einstieg bei den Rennen in Italien, Belgien, Kroatien und Spanien in der Rookie Wertung.

Beim letzten Rennen am Sonntag im spanischen Valencia wäre ihm noch beinahe die Sensation gelungen, auch Champion in der EuroNascar EN2 zu werden. Samstags konnte er das erste Final Rennen mit Vorsprung gewinnen und so erhoffte er sich bei einem Sieg am Sonntag auch diese Meisterschaft im ersten Jahr zu gewinnen.

„Ich war so zuversichtlich! Doch beim entscheidenden Meisterschaftsrennen am Sonntag kämpfte ich ab der ersten Runde mit technischen Problemen an meinem #50 Mustang. So konnte ich leider die Pace nicht mitgehen. Schade.“

Mit nur 6 Punkten Rückstand wurde er Vize Champion hinter Vittorio Ghirelli aus Italien.

Tobias Dauenhauer erntete nur Lob für seine so erfolgreiche erste Saison in der EuroNASCAR Series 2020.

Tobias Dauenhauer erhofft sich jetzt, durch die Erfolge 2020, einen weiteren Schritt in Richtung Profi Rennfahrer gelegt zu haben.

Tobias Dauenhauer (23) was the rising star in the hard-fought 2020 EuroNASCAR Series. With three wins, four pole positions and three fastest race laps in the EuroNASCAR Series EN2 he crowned his inaugural season with rookie class wins in the races in Italy, Belgium, Croatia and Spain.

In the final race of the season at Valencia in Spain on Sunday, he even almost pulled off the sensation of winning the overall championship title in the EuroNASCAR EN2 class as well.

On Saturday, he had won the first of the two races with a considerable advantage, which made him hopeful of winning the title in his first year by virtue of another win on Sunday.

“I was so confident! However, in the decisive championship round on Sunday, I was having technical issues on my #50 Mustang from the opening lap onwards. As a result, I was unable to keep up the Place. Too bad!”

Only six points down, he became runner-up to Vittorio Ghirelli from Italy.

Tobias Dauenhauer’s successful maiden season in the EuroNASCAR Series was widely acclaimed.

With his achievements in 2020, Tobias Dauenhauer hopes to have come another step closer to his goal of becoming a professional race driver.
