Dauenhauer gewinnt beeindruckend die EuroNASCAR Finals
Am vergangenen Wochenende fanden vom 13.-15. Oktober die EuroNASCAR Finals in Belgien auf dem Circuit Zolder statt. Für den Mörlenbacher Tobias Dauenhauer stand somit das letzte Rennwochenende der Saison auf dem Programm.
In den beiden Trainingssitzungen am Freitagnachmittag kämpfte Dauenhauer noch mit Bremsproblemen an seinem Chevrolet Camaro und konnte somit nur Platz 11 und 7 belegen. Nachdem das Team über Nacht diese Probleme beheben konnte, ging es am Samstagmorgen in das Qualifying bei abtrocknenden Streckenverhältnissen. Dauenhauer schaffte hier den Einzug in die Superpole (Top 10 des Qualifyings) und konnte in der 5-minütigen Superpole Session den 7. Startplatz herausfahren. Von Startplatz sieben aus ging es somit in den ersten Rennlauf am Samstagmittag. Dauenhauer erwischte einen guten Start und konnte direkt auf den vierten Platz vorfahren. Im Laufe des Rennens fand der ADAC Hessen-Thüringen Förderpilot keinen Weg an den Kontrahenten vor ihm vorbei und verfehlte mit Platz 4 nur knapp das Podium.
Am Sonntagmittag startete der letzte Rennlauf in der Saison 2023 der NASCAR Europameisterschaft. Dauenhauer ging hier vom vierten Startplatz in das Rennen. Kurz vor Rennbeginn kehrte ein Regenschauer ein und das Rennen startete bei nasser Fahrbahn mit Regenreifen. Erneut konnte der Mörlenbacher einen sauberen Start hinlegen und die Traktion seines V8-Boliden perfekt auf die Fahrbahn bringen. Dauenhauer fühlte sich in den regnerischen Bedingungen sichtwohl wohl und konnte schon in den ersten beiden Kurven bis auf Rang 2 vorfahren. Es dauerte nicht lange, und eine Runde später konnte er die Führung mit seinem #99 Chevrolet Camaro übernehmen. Mit einer beeindruckenden Leistung konnte der Mörlenbacher sein Talent bei schwierigsten Bedingungen unter Beweis stellen und pro Runde im Schnitt 3 Sekunden schneller als seine Konkurrenten fahren. Mit beachtlichen 47 Sekunden Vorsprung zum Zweitplatzierten überquerte Dauenhauer nach 18 Rennrunden die Ziellinie und konnte somit nicht nur den Sieg im zweiten Rennlauf einfahren, sondern auch die Gesamtwertung der beiden EuroNASCAR Finalläufe in Belgien gewinnen.
Dauenhauer nach dem Rennen: “Es hätte kein besserer Saisonabschluss sein können. Ich fühle mich in solchen Bedingungen einfach wohl, und mein Team Bremotion hat einen fantastischen Job gemacht und mir ein mega Auto zur Verfügung gestellt. Obwohl wir beim ersten Rennwochenende in Spanien nicht am Start waren, konnten wir den Vize-Juniormeister Titel sowie 2 Siege in unserer Premierensaison einfahren. Ich bin unglaublich stolz auf alle, die mitgewirkt haben, und möchte meinem Team Bremotion, meinen Sponsoren und Partnern für die Unterstützung herzlich danken.“
Mit diesen positiven Gefühlen endet die Saison 2023 für den ADAC Hessen-Thüringen Förderpiloten, und die Planungen und Verhandlungen für die Zukunft sind schon im Gange.
Dauenhauer impressively wins the EuroNASCAR Finals
Last weekend the EuroNASCAR Finals took place from 13th to 15th October at Circuit Zolder in Belgium. For Tobias Dauenhauer the last racing weekend of the season was on the agenda.
In the two training sessions on Friday afternoon, Dauenhauer still struggled with brake problems on his Chevrolet Camaro and he was therefore only able to finish 11th and 7th position. The team was able to fix these problems overnight and qualifying started on Saturday morning with drying track conditions. Dauenhauer made it into the Superpole (top 10 of the qualifying) and was able to take 7th place the 5-minute Superpole session. Starting from seventh place on the grid, the first race was on Saturday afternoon. Dauenhauer had a good start and was able to move straight up to fourth place. During the race, the ADAC Hesse- Thuringia supported driver didn’t find a way to pass the opponents in front of him and narrowly missed the podium with fourth place.
The last race in the 2023 NASCAR European Championship season scheduled on Sunday afternoon. Dauenhauer started the race from fourth grid position. Shortly before the start of the race, a rain shower arrived and the race started on wet conditions with rain tires. Once again, the Mörlenbacher was able to get a clean start and got the traction of his V8 car perfectly on the road. Dauenhauer obviously felt comfortable in rainy conditions and was able to move up to second place in the first two corners. It didn't take long and one lap later he was able to take the lead in his #99 Chevrolet Camaro. With an impressive performance, the Mörlenbacher was able to demonstrate his talent in these difficult conditions and drove an average of 3 seconds faster per lap than his competitors. After 18 laps of the race, Dauenhauer crossed the finish line with an impressive 47 seconds lead and he was therefore not only able to take victory in the second race, he also won the overall ranking of the two EuroNASCAR final races in Belgium.
Dauenhauer after the race: “It couldn’t have been a better end to the season. I just feel comfortable in such conditions and my team Bremotion did a fantastic job and provided me a mega car. Even though we didn't take part in the first race weekend in Spain, we were able to achieve the vice-junior championship title and two victories in our debut season. I am incredibly proud of everyone who were involved and would like to thank my team Bremotion, my sponsors and partners for their support.”
The 2023 season ends now with these positive feelings for the ADAC Hesse-Thuringia supported pilot and planning and negotiations for the future are already underway.
